Getting walkers to the trailhead
Many of Tasmania's great walks begin a long way from the nearest bus stop. Aumay Travel provides private transport for hikers, bushwalking clubs, school outdoor-education groups and guided walk operators, so your group arrives at the start together and on time.
- Private vehicle and driver for your group only.
- Early starts and remote pick-ups on request.
- Vehicles from 11-seat minibuses to 53-seat coaches, with space for packs, poles and boots.
Three Capes Track transfers
The Three Capes Track is a multi-day coastal walk on the Tasman Peninsula, near Port Arthur, known for its dramatic sea cliffs. Our published Hobart to Three Capes Track trailhead route covers about 210 km and is planned at around 8 hours of charter time.
| Route | Minibus (11) | Midi (24) | Coach (53) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobart to Three Capes Track trailhead (~210 km) | A$1,380 | A$1,810 | A$2,460 |
| Hobart to Cradle Mountain transfer (~330 km) | A$1,850 | A$2,350 | A$3,180 |
Prices are indicative starting points. The final price depends on date, passenger numbers and itinerary. Park passes and track bookings are not included.
Cradle Mountain and other walks
Cradle Mountain in the north-west is the starting point for many of Tasmania's well-known alpine walks. Our fixed-price Hobart to Cradle Mountain transfer covers about 330 km in around 6.5 hours. Walkers who just want a day in the park can join the shared Cradle Mountain day tour instead.
For other trailheads, separate drop-off and pick-up dates, or a club weekend away, build a custom trip online. The quote is calculated instantly from Google driving distance, vehicle size, duration and date. Driver accommodation for overnight jobs is not included unless confirmed.
Who we carry
Trailhead transport suits many kinds of walking groups:
- Independent hikers who want to leave the car behind on a one-way or multi-day walk.
- Bushwalking clubs heading away for a weekend, where one vehicle keeps the group together.
- School and university outdoor programs that need larger vehicles and fixed times.
- Guided walk operators that need reliable transfers to and from the track.
Because the whole vehicle is yours, the driver works to your group's timing rather than a public timetable.
Tips for walking groups
- Count packs as well as people. Full multi-day packs often need a larger vehicle than the head count suggests.
- Book early in the warmer months, when demand for trailhead transport is highest. Early-bird discounts apply 14 or more days ahead (excluding the Christmas and New Year peak).
- A 20% deposit (minimum A$150) by card confirms your booking, with the balance due 7 days before travel.
- Arriving by air? Add a Hobart Airport transfer, or see all Tasmania bus charter options.
